This account protection applies to the net asset value of securities and cash held in custody by Pershing for R.M. Stark accounts. The Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) provides the first $500,000 of coverage, including $100,000 for claims for cash. See www.sipc.org for additional information. The remaining excess coverage is provided by Pershing. While the excess coverage may be modified in the future, Pershing currently provides unlimited account protection through a commercial insurer. The account protection applies when a SIPC member firm fails financially and is unable to meet obligations to securities clients, but it does not protect against losses from the rise and fall in the market value of investments.
The first company listed on the New York Stock Exchange was the Bank of New York - first traded under the Buttonwood tree in 1792
