To protect yourselves against Internet fraud, account holders should be diligent in safeguarding your IDs and passwords. While R.M. Stark has measures in place to prevent hackers from accessing the accounts that we service, there remain a number of ways that identity thieves may still illegally obtain personal data directly from you, including:
Phishing - the transmission of fraudulent e-mail messages (that appear to come from legitimate web sites), requesting that the receiver send personal information
Keystroke Logging - the use of software or hardware to record all keystrokes for viewing at a later date; if you log on to a public computer (in a library or Internet cafe, for instance) that has a keystroke logger installed, you will unknowingly surrender your account-access information
Education
A key defense against account fraud and identity theft is awareness of safeguards for authentication (identification) and the consequences of carelessness. As R.M.Stark does not assume any liability for lost or surrendered account-access information we want you to be aware of the risks and your responsibility to:
Safeguard account access information - if you lose, share, or surrender your information, R.M. Stark will consider their activity authorized
Use a "safe" computer - you should make sure that you have robust and up to date anti-virus software and firewall protection; you should not access your accounts if you are uncertain about your (or a public) computer's protection
Report unauthorized transactions - you should immediately contact us if you suspect you are a victim of fraud
